Enrique J. Zaldivar
In 2001, after 25 years of leadership experience with P&L responsibilities, Enrique co-founded Inspired-Inc., an international OD consulting and executive coaching firm dedicated to helping leaders and organizations manage change and create effective and sustainable futures. Enrique's results-based approach to consulting and coaching, which emphasizes multicultural competency as well as the creative tension between authenticity and accountability, has directly added value to hundreds of executives and managers. They are leaders in Fortune-500 multinationals, NGOs, supranationals and governments, in 17 countries, 5 continents. Enrique serves in several executive boards, teaches in two universities and holds advanced degrees from Mexico and the US. He practices yoga and meditation daily; enjoys tennis, reading and painting oil canvases. He is the proud father of two sons, currently in college.
A "renaissance man," Enrique has excelled in a number of professions -- consultant, coach, executive, financier, civil engineer, university professor, and retail storeowner. He has been a natural leader in many sectors and roles. He knows the pressures placed on executives and skillfully guides them in a process of discovery, prioritization and action. He specializes in helping sophisticated leaders navigate complex systems in order to have greater impact. Clients, including CEOs and other C-level executives, elected leaders and mid-level managers, consistently commend his ability to enable them to make sense of conflicting data and create strategies that have a positive long-term impact on them and on their organizations. He has helped clients with integrated and sustainable change-efforts, leadership development, organizational effectiveness and record profitability increases.
Previous to forming Inspired-Inc., Enrique served as Chief of Risk Management at the Inter-American Development Bank, where he worked skillfully with other executives, board members and staff to implement a profound change in the Bank's approach to financial risk management. In addition, he led delicate negotiations with high-level government officials from Europe, Asia and the Americas, generating unprecedented levels of satisfaction and accountability for the Bank's main stakeholders.
Earlier in his career, as a civil engineer, he managed the construction of about one hundred new buildings in Mexico, introducing new construction techniques and achieving a record 90% on-time under-budget completion rate.
As a young man, he managed his family's business, Zaldivar, S.A. (a small retail chain) in Mexico City, reaching same-store yearly average revenue growth during a severe economic downturn, while achieving double digit annual profitability growth.
Enrique serves on the executive boards of the A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems (the US branch of the UK-based Tavistock Institute) as well as the Chesapeake Center for Public Leadership. He teaches a course on diversity and multicultural competency at the AU/NTL's master's program in OD, in Washington, DC. He has also taught at the School of Psychology at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
Enrique received his BS in Civil Engineering from La Salle University in Mexico City, his MS in Operations Research and his PD in Management Science and Finance from George Washington University, and his certification in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University.
